Eddie W. Burge, pastor, missionary:

Pastor Eddie, went home to be with the Lord he loved and served on Wednesday June 13, 2018, from his residence surrounded by loved ones. He was ready and wanting to go home! He fought a good fight and finished his race.

Pastor Eddie, was born in Poplarville, Mississippi on September 25, 1937, to Rexie Louise Burge and Joseph Thomas Burge.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Mary Ann Guy of Cleveland, TN.

He joined B. H. Clendennen, founder of the School of Christ and travelled throughout South America establishing Schools of Christ in remote villages where ever the Lord led him. He preached the Gospel with determination and perseverance in the jungles of Guyana, Brazil, Peru, Argentina, and mostly his beloved Venezuela where he was used of the Lord to help establish two Rehab centers, on opposite sides of the country, as well as many churches in the remote areas. He unashamedly proclaimed Jesus as Lord whether behind the pulpit or at a bus terminal. While on the mission field he would willingly give his last dollar to a needy pastor or share his meal with a hungry child off the street. He was copastor with his wife Nook at the Colony City Community Church in Fitzgerald, GA for over fourteen years. His heart was to please the Lord. He loved his children and was especially proud of his many ‘GRANDS’.
