Freda Catherine Allen, 87, of Ocilla died Saturday, October 6, 2018 at her residence.
She was born January 25, 1931 in Ware County to the late Talmadge Herndon and late Suzie Herndon Coleman. She lived in the Fitzgerald and Ocilla communities most of her life. Freda was owner of Pine Plaza in Fitzgerald, a certified beautician and a dog breeder.
Freda was the most loving and caring person anyone would ever meet. She saw only the good in a person and could turn any bad day into good. Her children and grandchildren were her life and she devoted every minute to loving on them. She had a huge heart for animals, especially her chickens and her dog, Lulu.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: John and Jackie Hudson; grandchildren: Trey and Amy Hudson, Jessica and Clayton Sirmans, and Justin Hudson and Krista Hester; great-grandchildren: Dru and Wil Hudson, Whitaker and Allyn Sirmans.
She is also survived by daughter and son-in-law: Susan and Dan O’Steen; grandchildren: Deanna O’Steen Morgan, Gail and Chris Rudd, Danny and Angie O’Steen, Ted and Jill O’Steen.; great grandchildren: Nick and Allie Morgan, Bailey Davis, Luke Rudd, Eli, Abbie, London and Caitlin O’Steen.
Mrs. Allen is also survived by her brothers T.L. Herndon (Ann) and James Herndon (Debbie), several nieces and nephews and a special godson, E.J. Wells. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Allen, son Warren Lee Hall, III grandsons Allen Hudson and Levi Rudd and sister Helen King.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ocilla Baptist Church. Robert Couey and Billy Stephens will be officiating. Burial services will be private.
