John William Garren, 76, of Tifton, Ga., passed from this life into the arms of Jesus, Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Tift Regional Medical Center. John was born on May 26, 1942 in Berrien County, Ga., to the late James T. and Lucy Mae Walker Garren. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, youngest brother, Tony Dell Garren, child, Julie Waldschlager Allen and granddaughter Christie Allen.
John retired from Tifton Aluminum after more than 30 years, he was of the Church of God faith. John was a very humble man who never knew a stranger and always had a smile on his face. He loved his wife, children, and family dearly. As a family man, he enjoyed home cooked meals and family gatherings. He enjoyed the great outdoors and was an avid coon-hunter at heart.
John, better known to family and friends as "Cooter" is survived by his beautiful wife of 43 years, Carol Waldschlager Garren, his children, John Wayne Garren, Michael (Barb) Waldschlager, Dennis (Scarlett) Waldschlager, Lonnie (Lavonna) Waldschlager, Neal Waldschlager and Teresa(Rodney) Cooper, 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren and siblings; James Eugene (Barbara), Jehu Thomas (Norma Lee), Charles Edward (Linda), Russell Julian (Margie), Ronald Frank, Carolyn Faulkner and many nieces and nephews.
Bro. Timmy Jerry and Bro. Michael Waldschlager will give eulogies in honor of their loving friend and father. A memorial service will be held at The Reflections Chapel on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 11:00 am.
