Louis Henry Lerch

November 25, 1932 ~ November 9, 2018 (age 85)

Louis Henry Lerch Sr, age 85, of Douglas, GA passed away on Friday November 9, 2018 at Coffee Regional Medical Center. He was born on November 25, 1932 in Utica, NY to his late parents, Andrew Lerch and Esther (Berge) Lerch.

Louis was a machinist by trade and was a member of the Machinist and Aerospace Workers Union. He loved working with his hands and loved anything to do with the outdoors. He was generous and very kind to everyone he met and knew.

He is survived by his current wife, Wandamarie (Perry) Lerch married in 1981 currently of Douglas, GA; His ex-wife Beverly LaPoint married in Utica, NY from 1956-1980 currently of Douglas, GA; and His older sister Mae Jordan of Nashville, TN.

His surviving children include daughter, Melinda McCoy & husband Reginald McCoy of Douglas, GA; Daughter, Cindy Lerch of Elizabeth City, NC; Son, Louis Lerch II & wife Sally Lerch of Utica, NY; Daughter, Kim Bailey & husband Jerry Bailey of Douglas, GA; Daughter, Barbara Lerch of Douglas, GA; Daughter, Betty Lerch of Jordanville, NY; Son, Andrew Lerch of Douglas, GA; Son, Caleb Lerch of Utica, NY.

His surviving grandchildren include Beau Perry, Erin Perry, Seana Courtney & husband Mike Courtney, Jerry Bailey Jr, Kadejah Bailey, and Syncerae Wilcox.

His surviving great-grandchildren include Nevaeh Birch, Brandon Birch, and Payton Courtney.

In addition to his parents, Andrew & Esther Lerch, Louis was preceded in death by his older brother, Daniel Lerch of Eugene, OR; His twin sister, Louella Williams of Nashville, TN; And two children, Joseph Phillip Lerch and Desiree Melody Lerch.

Memorial services will be at 2pm Friday November 16, 2018 @ The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses located at 585 Trenton Rd Utica, NY. Brother Cleave Braudbent will officiate the services and it will be audio tied in with the Black River, NY and Douglas, GA congregations.
