Mark Russel Moore passed away Thursday, August 15, 2019 in the comfort of his Leesburg home, with family at his side. He was 72.
On August 30, 1946 Mark was born in Elwood, Indiana to Russel and Charlotte Moore. Mark fell in love with music first. He could be found with a bass guitar from his teen years in Indiana to touring with a blues band, and finally settling into retirement as a regular band member at Casa Tapatia and other local spots. Professionally, he was an industrial engineer, retiring from Cooper Tire and Rubber Company, and a teacher. Mark found a greater love in fatherhood. He taught, guided, and encouraged his three children Kimberly, Tricia, and Eric with unparalleled gentleness and patience. He shared this same love with his stepchildren, Kendra, Michael, Karen, and Lee. His greatest love, though, was vowed on April 6, 2002 to his wife, Cynthia.
Mark is survived by his wife, Cynthia Moore, and his children Tricia Chandler and Eric Moore. His memory also lives on in the hearts and minds of his stepchildren and their spouses: Michael and Anne Soriano, Karen Mintz, Lee and Sarah Spratling, and Kendra and Randy Harrell; as well as his grandchildren: Kaitlyn and Grey Harris, Kamryn Durden, Justin Soriano, Ally Clegg, Maggie Clegg, Collin Mintz, and Dylan Harrell. He is remembered and loved by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Mark was welcomed to Heaven by his parents, sisters— Marianne Goul and Nancy Moore Saulomon, and his daughter, Kimberly Rose Moore.
Memorial services will be held at 10am on Saturday August 17, 2019 at St. Theresa Catholic Church.
