Mary Alice (Harris) Barker was born on December 5, 1949, in Tifton, Georgia. She was the eldest daughter of Aretha Williams and George Campbell (both of whom preceded her in death). She is survived by her husband James Barker, sons Rodney, Steve, and Noah Harris, daughter-in-law, Kara Krause, granddaughters, Samantha Harris, Chiara and Terra Harris-Krause, and great grandsons, Kaden and Onyx Harris. She is also survived by Mattie Campbell (grandmother), Gwen Wilcoxson, Marie Thomas (Aunt), Dennis Barron (brother), Edwin Williams (brother).
Passionate and personable, Mary Barker could talk to anyone and usually leave them smiling. She was the kind of person to befriend and make complete strangers into new friends. Skilled with presentation a highlight of her life was being a District Sales Manager for World Book Encyclopedia.
A dedicated mother, Mary was primary caregiver for three sons and was dedicated as a Jehovah’s Witness before the end of her life. Despite many ups and downs, health challenges, and pain, she maintained a steady and positive disposition. She cared deeply for others and was passionate about life, family, fellowship, and friends. She was a hard-working and held many work roles in her life. Most of all, she was a loving, caring gem of a woman who will be greatly missed and her memory forever cherished.
