Samuel Jay Merlin, age 38 of Tifton died Thursday November 21, 2019
Services will be 4:00 pm Saturday November 30, 2019 at the Reflection Chapel with Barol Baily officiating.
Sam was born December 4, 1980 in Blytheville Arkansas to Louis N and Dacia Wilkins Merlin. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy and was a rail inspector for Sperry Rail Service. Sam had a mind that was a little hard to understand but his heart was easy to see in action daily. He enjoyed traveling to the different cities and states that his work took him but was always ready for time back home with his family
Survivors include his parents, Louis and Dacia Merlin, one sister, Jamie Stewart, one brother, Gene Merlin, one niece, Christy Stewart, one nephew, Charles Stewart, aunties, uncles and many cousins.
Samuel had a condition called Wolff-Parkinson-White (WPW) Syndrome. This is an extra electrical pathway between your heart's upper and lower chambers causing a rapid heartbeat. The extra pathway is present at birth and is fairly rare. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association to help support research for WPW Syndrome.
