Obituary

Bernice Smith, age 62 died on April 13th 2021 at Pruitt Health Facility in Ashburn, Ga.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday April 17th at Reflection Chapel.

Bernice was born on December 2nd, 1957 to the late Raymond Smith and Dorothy Smith (Barron). Bernice attended Booker T. Washington high school in Atlanta. After working a variety of jobs in the Atlanta area for many years Bernice relocated to South Ga in 1998. It was during this time that Bernice would become a Jehovah’s witness and re-dedicate her life. In the year of 2000 she began her career as a hospitality specialist for Tifton Regional Hospital. She would continue to work here for the next 18 years before retiring in 2018.  It was during this time that she fell in love with Sycamore, the city she would later make her home.   During these years, Bernice came to experience an overwhelming outpour of love from a strong network of friends and fellow brothers and sisters in the kingdom.

Bernice spent her entire adult life taking care of others. She was the primary caretaker for her father Raymond for many years, while serving in a capacity in her career which centered upon the care of others. She enjoyed cooking, music, and fishing.

Survivors include one son; Antonio Smith and his wife Shani, four grandchildren, Shakear Hyman, Ameena Strothers, Kayla Smith, and Ashani Smith.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister and brother in-law Brenda(Kelvin) Cobb and three nephews (Brandon, Mario, and Jamal).

Reflection Cremation and Funeral Service of Tifton is assisting the family with arrangements.
