Estelle Dobson

November 6, 1924 ~ August 12, 2023 (age 98) 98 Years Old

Obituary

Estelle was born in Sumter, South Carolina to Sara Singleton and Paul Hunter Sr. She received further life lessons under the watchful eyes of her grandparents, Frank & Estelle Singleton.

When Estelle became of age she moved to New York where on July 5, 1945 she married the father of her four children. Edward Dobson Sr., from Estil, South Carolina.

Estelle & Edward Sr. created Edward Jr, Donald, Carolyn and Marilyn. After raising her four children she continued to express abundance by raising her two grandsons. She then fostered an additional child for good measures.

Estelle held many interesting jobs; from her first start in a Button Factory, to working at P.S. 129 in Brooklyn, to then working in the New York City Police Department (NYPD). Despite her many careers there was no title more meaningful to her than “Mother”. She was an accomplished seamstress and personal chef to her family, church, and community.

Seven decades after Estelle migrated to New York from Sumter, she made her next move to Hahira, Georgia where she resided for another decade.

Estelle was proceeded in Life Everlasting by her parents Sara (Singleton) and Paul Hunter Sr.; her husband Edward Dobson Sr.; Hunter Siblings Paul, Jr., Leroy, James, Jerry, Carles, and Sara (Hunter) Sirmans.

She will forever be lovingly remembered and honored by her daughter and son in law, Marilyn & Frank Dye of Hahira, Ga; Her grand children Eteyah Yehudah of Stone Mountain, Ga, Brice Dobson of Duanesburg, NY, and Gary Samuel of West Rutland, Vermont; great grandchildren Anthony Padilla Dobson, Kemaurie Samuel, Russel Willis Jr., and Layana Dobson; Cousins Wilhelmina Lee of Brooklyn, NY; and Willie Mae Dow of Sumter , Sc; niece, Saundra Sirmans of Kyle, TX; nephews Charles Sirmans Jr. of Brooklyn, NY, and Kevin Hunter of Brooklyn, NY; in additional to the numerous family members and friends not named here.

She has arrived full circle; “Stell” made it back home. She will be laid to rest next to her parents, earning rest, at His right hand. Amen.
