James Arthur Woodruff, age 86 of Sycamore died January 12, 2021 at Pine Shadows Retirement Home.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday January 15, 2021 at Trinity Community Church with Rev. Rodney Brown officiating. Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. CDC guidelines will be in place.
Mr. Woodruff was born September 13, 1934 in Turner County Ga. to the late Walter W. and Versie Hancock Woodruff. He had a heart for people and was always willing to share with those in need, he served his country honorably in the United Sates Air Force, and served in funeral service for many years before his retirement. He was a former city councilman for the city of Sycamore, was a member of Sycamore Lodge.
Survivors include his children, Wayne(Faith) Woodruff, Jan(Mike) Howell, Jamie Woodruff and Rhonda(Mike) Hancock, eight grandchildren, Bryan (Amanda) Woodruff, April (Chris) Hahn, Courtney (Kenny) Singletary, Devin Woodruff, Logan (Courtney) Hancock, Colby Hancock, Kayla Rountree and Anna Rountree and one great grandchild.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Helen Phelps Woodruff.
