John P. Coniglio, 65, born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on October 19, 1955 has sadly passed on September 25, 2021. He went peacefully in Tift Regional Medical Center, Tifton, Georgia. Thankfully his children were able to be there with him so he could see them once more before he left this world.
John was a long time resident of New Kensington, PA until he moved to Sumner Georgia with his longtime companion Sherry in 2018. He loved the peaceful atmosphere of the cotton farm where they resided and after Sherry passed he decided to stay there with their dog Shadow. He made new friends while they were there and enjoyed the new calm country living. He loved watching his hometown football team the Pittsburgh Steelers and he enjoyed spending time on their porch just relaxing and taking in the scenery after a long day of mowing the extensive farm land. John was a member of the Armed Forces for years and most stories he told led back to his times in the Army. His nickname back then was Congo. After his time in the military he was a carpenter for many years. John was loved by many, he was a very friendly outgoing man and when talking to his friends they have nothing but fond memories of him.
John was preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Agnes Coniglio, in addition to his longtime companion Sherry Smith.
John leaves behind his sister Josephine Coniglio, his 3 children Christopher Coniglio (Ashley), Sam Coniglio (Cathy) and Tonya Gumbert (Jerry) and his grandchildren Madison, Bella, Riley and Avery.
There will be a private memorial for family and close friends. The date is to be determined.
