Johnnie Tankersley

Mr. Johnnie Clinton “JC” Tankersley, aged 74 passed away Wednesday August 16, 2023, at home
surrounded by loved ones.
JC was born on April 7, 1949, in Jonesboro, Ak to the late J.W. Tankersley and Elzie Mae Grimes
Rasmussen. He served in the Navy after leaving high school. He was talented with his hands and could
build anything that he put his mind to and worked as a carpenter for years. He also worked for
Firefighters Supply in Tifton, GA for a few years. His love was leather work which he started doing in
1980. He worked at the Tifton Agrirama for years before opening his own shop. He then found a place at
the Tifton Mall and was there for 21 years before retiring. He enjoyed fishing and gardening and could
grow just about anything he wanted to. He was always the life of the party and enjoyed being with
family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Linda Tankersley, children Jason Tankersley (Amanda), Michelle Moore (Bob
Branstetter), Michael Ebersohl (Kris), Jessica Rutland (Steven Nipper), and Brittney Rutland. He had
several grandchildren who he adored.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American
Liver Foundation.
