Obituary
Richard Phillip Jones, age 85 passed peacefully Tuesday, February 28, 2023 in the care of Hospice. Celebration of life service will be Monday, March 20, 2023 at Killearn UMC in Tallahassee, FL with a burial and military honors to follow at Tallahassee Memorial Cemetery.
Richard "Dick" grew up in Louisville, KY. and attended Dupont Manual High School where he met and married his high school sweetheart, Betty. The two lived in Tallahassee for over 50 years where they raised their family. Dick owned and operated Carpet City, Inc. He was known for his love for golf and could be found most Saturdays at Killearn Country Club with his friends.
Dick was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is preceded in death by his mother Gladys L. Jones and daughter, Alice Ann Jones. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty Booher Jones, his daughter Betsy Joyce (Billy), daughter Sara Whitman (Harrison), granddaughters Emmaline Harter (Taylor), Beth Ashley Joyce, grandsons William Joyce, Phillip Wilder and one sister, June Houze
