Obituary
Sammie Charlene Elixson Tatum of Tifton was born in Christmas FL on June 6, 1940, she passed away on Sunday January 15, 2023 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta Georgia at the age of 82.
She worked as a Registered Nurse who truly cared for her patients, she was an excellent cook and seamstress, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, she especially enjoyed trips to the beach and listening to the sounds of the ocean.
She was the beloved wife of the late George Douglas Tatum, much loved mother of George Douglas Tatum II(Dee), Lee Ann Hancock (Michael) and the late Sherri Lynn Childs, cherished Nana of Douglas III, Spencer, Taylor, Colby, Hannah, Hope and Zackary, daughter of the late Charles Samuel Elixson, Lilly Mae Hancock Elixson-Edge, stepdaughter of the late Theadore Edge, dear sister of Bonnie Jones and the late David, Patricia, Manuel and Charlotte and is remembered fondly by her many special nieces and nephews.
To honor her wishes, there will be no funeral service. Immediate family will gather for a private celebration of life.
