Patricia Jordan Whitehead

Mrs. Patricia Ann Jordan Whitehead, age 83, beloved wife of the late Danny Jay Whitehead, entered into rest on Friday, August 16, 2024. Mrs. Whitehead was born in Chatham County Georgia to the late Sallie “Granny” Howard. Before her retirement, Mrs. Whitehead worked in retail and health care. She was of the Baptist faith. A private memorial service will be held with family in Grovetown, Georgia. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date so that all who loved Mrs. Whitehead can rejoice and celebrate her life. Mrs. Whitehead will be laid to rest at Bellevue Memorial Gardens and Chapel in Grovetown, Georgia next to her husband. To know Mrs. Whitehead was to love her. She loved traveling to the mountains, reading Danielle Steel books, and coloring on her tablet. She was a beer sipping, liquor tasting, non-judgmental, love you as you are woman. Despite her willingness to always sip different beers and liquors, Mrs. Whitehead was a coffee connoisseur who preferred her coffee black and straight out of the pot. No matter the season, Mrs. Whitehead could always be found sipping on black coffee. Mrs. Whitehead was never too full to indulge on boiled peanuts and watermelon. She loved sitting outside, bird watching, smelling roses, and people watching. Mrs. Whitehead enjoyed spending time with her family and shared a special connection with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved telling old stories including Robbie stomping in his boots, Melissa getting stung by wasps, and Liz believing in fairies. During summers and school breaks her house was filled with the love and laughter of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Affectionally known to family and close friends as Mamas, Mrs. Whitehead is survived by three daughters: Peggy and Bob Lee of Tifton, GA; Carolyn Hawkins of Tifton, Georgia; and Elizabeth and Eddie Lott of Fitzgerald, Georgia. Mrs. Whitehead is survived by her sister Sandra Morris of Grovetown, Georgia. In addition, Mrs. Whitehead is survived by grandchildren: Robbie and Robin Lee of Omega, GA; Melissa and Lee Simpson of Omega, Georgia; April and Kyle Leab of Adel, Georgia; Annie Stewart of Adel, Georgia; Daniel and Patience Hawkins of Tifton, Georgia; and Ridley Lott of Fitzgerald, Georgia. Mrs. Whitehead was the proud grandmother of 13 great-grandchildren and many special nieces and nephews. Mrs. Whitehead is preceded in death by her mother Sallie “Granny” Howard; her loving husband Danny Jay Whitehead; three brothers Larry, Jerry, and Kermit Harrelson; one sister Jeanette Mobley; two nephews; two nieces; one great granddaughter; and her son-in-law Steve Hawkins. Mrs. Whitehead’s five oldest great grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers: Reese Lee, Harley Lee, Cody Simpson, Hailey Kelly and Dylan Kelly.
