Mildred Wilson Obituary Mildred McGill Wilson, age 97 of Tifton, died Sunday March 25, 2018 at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday March 28th at 2:00 pm at Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church (145 Mount Olive Church Road, Tifton, Georgia). Family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00 pm at the church. Elder Marty Mullis and Elder Paul Thomas will be officiating. The burial will be held at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Mrs. Wilson was born on January 1, 1921 in Tift County to the late John D. and Josie Davis McGill. She graduated from Tifton High and attended ABAC and the University of Georgia. She retired from the Farmers Bank of Tifton (now First Community) and the Georgia Department of Labor. On August 22, 1940, Mildred married the love of her life, W.D. (Dick) Wilson who passed away on January 5, 1998. They had two sons, Jim L. Wilson, who is deceased and W. David (Norma) Wilson of Albany,she is also survived by one brother, John W. McGill of Tifton; two sisters, Louise McGill Tidd of Ellaville, and Brenda McGill Johnson (Junior) of Stockton; three grandchildren, Adam D. Wilson (Molly) of St. Paul, Minnesota,Kimberly W. Clements (Larry) of Tifton; and Jessica J Eddins (Tim) of Albany; three great granddaughters, Kasey Baker of Alabama; Ella J. Eddins of Albany; and Fiona Wilson of St. Paul, Minnesota; one great grandson Declan Wilson of St. Paul, and one great-great grandson, Baker Armstrong of Alabama; also many nieces, nephews, and friends who she loved dearly. Mrs. Wilson was a 26- year member of Eastern Star, a member of Scottish Rite Auxiliary, the American Legion, Elks Auxiliary, and the Order of The Amaranth where she held many local and state offices. She was also a member of the 55 Club and received the George A. Wright Award in May of 2007, and a 60- year plus faithful member of Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church where she held many offices. In addition to her parents, husband, and son, Mildred is preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin L. McGill and Myrle McGill; two sisters, Inez Adams and Shirley M. Franks; and her precious step-mother, Annie L. MccGill, who raised her. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Mt.
