Virginia "Jenny" Lindsey

Virginia Marie Lindsey, lovingly known as “Jenny”, age 74, of Tifton, passed away peacefully Friday, February 13, 2026 with family by her side. She was born in Toombs County, GA on December 22, 1951 to the late Eli F. Rainwater and Virginia McBride Rainwater. Jenny was also preceded in death by her aunt, Ethel Rainwater, who raised her from the age of 5. Aunt Ethel was a second mother to Jenny. Jenny had a true gift for seeing the beauty in all things, working as a cosmetologist for 25 years; she poured her gift into her clients, making all feel special. She spent many great years at her salons, Headquarters and Razor’s Edge. Following cosmetology, she worked as a medical transcriptionist. Even outside of the salon, she carried her gift for beauty and applied it to all things, especially at her home. She had a natural green thumb and grew beautiful plants and flowers in her garden. Her gentle, loving spirit allowed her to care for many animals as they held a special place in her heart. She made all around her feel loved, seen, and special- she was a true light for so many. Jenny and family could not have gotten through her sickness without her niece, Shea Rainwater Swan, who became Jenny’s primary healthcare advocate before and after her diagnosis. Shea provided Jenny with comfort, care, advice, and a few good laughs during her final battle with cancer. Shea was a blessing to Jenny and the whole family with the loving care she provided. The family also wants to thank Hospice of Tift Area and special nurse, Zoe Dean, and caring sitter, Tammy Nipper, for the exceptional care and comfort they provided to Jenny during her battle. Jenny leaves behind her husband of over 41 years- “Tink” Lindsey, stepson- Craig (Christie) Lindsey, siblings- Eli Folsom (Darlene) Rainwater, Bob Rainwater, Jerry Rainwater, Gayle Cooper, Kathryn R. (James) Epps, Carolyn Vance, and Carrie Lindsey, as well as several loving nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4:00pm, Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at the Reflection Chapel, with Rev. Brant Lindsey officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Hospice of Tift Area, 618 N Central Ave, Tifton, GA 31794. Reflection Cremation & Funeral Service is serving the family during this time.
